The Beverwaard District Council says NO to paid parking!

The Beverwaard Neighborhood Council speaks out on paid parking and waste – During the neighborhood council meeting last Monday, dozens of residents were present. They expressed their concerns about, among other things, the proposed introduction of paid parking and pollution in the neighborhood.

The neighborhood council has decided to speak at the city council meeting on Tuesday, September 22. Chairman Tom van der Veer will convey on behalf of the neighborhood council that there is strong resistance in Beverwaard against the introduction of paid parking. In previous messages on Like je Wijk and Beverwaardigheden, almost all responses to the proposal were negative. The neighborhood council has also decided to co-sign the unsolicited advice from the Pendrecht and Zuidwijk neighborhood councils regarding waste. The neighborhood council believes that the city and the neighborhood should be cleaner. Attention has been drawn to the fact that the waste disposal tax is rising, while no additional funds are currently being allocated for keeping the city clean. Furthermore, the neighborhood council unanimously approved the residents’ initiative for Youth for Christ. This initiative organizes 160 evenings of sports and game activities for young people from Beverwaard.

After the meeting, neighborhood council members continued discussions with the attending residents during the late summer reception.
