The Beverwaard District Council says NO to paid parking!

Neighborhood council Beverwaard expresses itself on paid parking and waste – During the neighborhood council meeting last Monday, dozens of residents were present. They expressed their concerns about, among other things, the proposed introduction of paid parking and pollution in the neighborhood.

The neighborhood council has decided to speak during the city council meeting on Tuesday, September 22. Chairman Tom van der Veer will convey on behalf of the neighborhood council that there is strong opposition in Beverwaard to the introduction of paid parking. In previous reports on Like je Wijk and Beverwaardigheden, almost all reactions to the proposal were negative. The neighborhood council has also decided to co-sign the unsolicited advice from the neighborhood councils Pendrecht and Zuidwijk regarding waste. The neighborhood council believes that the city and the neighborhood need to be cleaner. Attention has also been requested to the fact that the waste disposal tax is increasing, while so far no extra money has been allocated to keep the city clean. Additionally, the neighborhood council unanimously approved the residents’ initiative for Youth for Christ. This initiative organizes 160 evenings with sports and game activities for young people from Beverwaard.

After the meeting, neighborhood council members continued the conversation with the attending residents during the late summer reception.
