At the beginning of the year, many people make new resolutions: living healthier, exercising more, and taking better care of themselves. That is why we organized a Fit Festival together with Hoornbeeck College and the students from the medical assistant training program.
The festival consisted of four parts: a health check, during which blood pressure and blood sugar were measured; a healthy bingo, with fruit as a prize; cooking together in the kitchen with vegetable salad, fruit skewers, and sandwiches with ham, cheese, and egg; and sports and games, such as musical chairs, relay race, and an interactive game with a VR headset.
It was a cozy, educational, and active day focused on health, fun, and connection. It was wonderful to see how students could put their knowledge into practice and how local residents engaged in an accessible way with a fit start to the year.
