SpeeltuinHillesluis was established on July 23, 1938. The playground was redesigned in 2022 with a green, climate-adaptive, and inclusive design, where hard surfaces were replaced by grass, bushes, and trees. The playground is located on the south side of the neighborhood, right next to the Feijenoord Stadium. Easily accessible by public transport, with plenty of (paid) parking available.
