The Social Café at Dumasstraat 263 is a new meeting place for the neighborhood. Manager Sara Keskinkilic, together with residents and volunteers, is committed to meeting, learning, and connection.
On Tuesdays and Thursdays, there are free Dutch language lessons, and on Sundays there is homework guidance for young people. On Wednesdays, children’s activities are regularly held. Neighborhood meetings also take place and the neighborhood prevention team is regularly present. The café is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. New volunteers are welcome to help or organize something themselves.
Help with homework?
Progressio starts homework guidance for young people in secondary education. Every Sunday from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, young people can come to Dumasstraat 263. There is space for about eight young people. Registration is not necessary for now. Besides homework, attention is given to development, future, responsibility, and contact with parents and school.
Children and young people can also come every Wednesday and Friday afternoon for free to the homework spot of Sanna op Zuid at Van Langendonckstraat 51. From primary school age, everyone is welcome to do homework, learn, or work on assignments. There is free wifi and volunteers are ready to help. No registration is needed: you can just walk in.
