My name is Tom van der Veer and I am the chairman of the Beverwaard neighborhood council. The neighborhood council exists to provide counterbalance to the Coolsingel and to ensure that plans for our neighborhood are not only conceived behind a desk.

I was elected to the neighborhood council on behalf of Leefbaar Rotterdam. From that role, I commit myself to a safe, clean, and livable Beverwaard. My main priorities are tackling nuisance caused by scooters and fatbikes, especially on and around the canals, a cleaner neighborhood, and better maintenance of public spaces. I want problems not only to be heard but also for the municipality to actively address them.

We cannot do this without the people who live here. Beverwaard residents know better than anyone what works well, where things go wrong, and what Beverwaard needs.
